How can using video get more bookings for your B&B?

If you’re an Irish B&B owner, having embedded videos of your property on your homepage could help you get more bookings.
That’s according to a recent article from website Hospitality Technology. Quoting a survey from BnBFinder, the article states that photos and video are the key influencers in 25% of bookings made on their site.
Global trends across all industries show that video is becoming an increasingly used marketing tool for small businesses to connect with potential customers. Videos being shared and liked on Facebook, as well as a business’s own website, are an effective and relatively inexpensive way to spread your name nationally and abroad.
So what are the ways in which a personalised video could help?
1. Local and on-site amenities
As the old saying goes, a picture paints a thousand words. We know instinctively that it’s true. Rather than just telling us about the mountain views, or the nature trails, why not show us? 64% of potential customers are converted after watching a video. If you’re based in a beautiful part of the country, show it off and watch your bookings shoot up.
2. Customer testimonials
We all know about the power of a referral. You might believe you while telling us how wonderful your B&B is, but we also know that you’re probably biased. If a guest particularly enjoys their stay in your home, why not ask them if they’d be willing to share their experiences with others? It doesn’t have to be an award-winning documentary, just talking straight to the camera about their stay. You might sweeten the deal with a voucher for their help, and welcome their custom back again!
3. Getting to you know you
Getting to know all about you! Staying in a B&B isn’t like the traditional hotel experience, where if you wanted, you could nearly avoid seeing a member of staff from the time you arrive until the time you leave. People staying in B&Bs aren’t looking for that. They’ll want to know about the owners of the B&B. Introducing yourself and what you have to offer your guests is a really effective way to connect with them. So, if you’re the personable and friendly type then put yourself on display.
