The trends look good for men’s fashion retailers in 2016

Posted on

According to Irish design legend, Paul Costello, men’s fashion in Ireland is growing up! Speaking to Image magazine, Costello believes that Irish men are getting braver when it comes to their fashion choices, and that’s good news for Irish retailers.

For Costello, the best style advice for men is to “keep it simple”, with “nice quality, well-cut jeans, a well-cut shirt”. He also noted the resurgence in popularity of the three-piece suit. His message is clear, men are opting for quality when buying clothes nowadays.

This is certainly good news for Irish retailers, and chimes with recent sales figures. According to an RTE report, sales of menswear in Ireland rose by 12% in the 4th quarter of 2015, a higher jump than in sales of ladieswear.

So what the big trends in men’s fashion for 2016? Respected fashion website thetrendspotter has listed what it believes will be the “must-have” this year; bomber jackets. Yes, they’re back! Loved for their versatility and comfort, bomber jackets are undeniably popular amongst young Irish men.

With summer just around the corner, has your business got the right ideas for your next collection?
