A great software package can really take the pain of out doing the accounts for small business owners. But with so many different options out there, how can you be certain you’re getting the best value for money?
Linked Finance has put together a short guide to help you make an informed decision about which accountancy software package you should go for, no matter what your budget is…
1. Intuit QuickBooks Online
The best accountancy tool out there right now. There’s both a simplified and more advanced option, depending on how competent you are. It’s available for a very reasonable price and is most definitely user-friendly! And if at some stage you decide to hand over your accounts to a professional, your files can be easily transferred.
2. Xero
A close second. It’s easy to navigate for those just starting out, and is affordable too. Its presentation and layout perhaps isn’t as slick as it’s competitors but it’s a more than solid choice.
3. Sage One
One of the leading software packages, and arguably the best known. It’s widely used and offers a great level of customer service. But of course, this comes at a price!
4. Wave Accounting
A very credible piece of software. It has plenty of features and its layout is clear. Oh, and the best news? It’s free!
5. Sort My Books
A great homegrown solution developed by Aisling Software Limited in Killarney. This cloud based package is functional and affordable.
We hope that at least this gives you some idea of what’s out there.
